Monxo is making an upgrade to its credit offering by integrating its Flex product onto Apple Pay for UK consumers.
The London-based neobank announced the update in a blog post this week. Consumers can integrate flex into their Apple Wallet and use the option when selecting Apple Pay at checkout.
Users will then be given an option to choose which monthly payment best suits them, and complete the purchase via face ID, touch iD or with their password.
“We’re excited to be one of the first UK banks to offer this new feature,” a company blog post read.
The integration further extends Monzo’s reach and capabilities as a bank. Founded in 2015, the challenger bank secured a banking licence in 2017 and has grown successfully year after year ever since.
The firm’s Flex card is its credit card offering, introduced in 2021, and gives users the option to pay interest free over three months or at 29% APR representative (variable) over 24 months. The integration will be made available to Apple Pay users via Apple phone IOS 18 software as well as on iPAD OS 18.
The integration with Apple Pay, a widely used payment method in the UK, will make the offering even more flexible, and therefore more attractive, to consumers, potentially growing Monzo’s already expanding customer base even more.
Kunal Malani, General Manager at Monzo, said: “Our customers love using their Flex credit card with Apple Pay and we’re thrilled to be the first bank to bring this feature to Apple Pay users in the UK.
“Now our customers are able to choose their monthly payments — right at checkout with Apple Pay when using their Monzo Flex credit card. This brings an even more convenient experience for our customers when shopping online.”
