Mollie is connecting users of Apple’s Tap to Pay for iPhone to Irish businesses looking to scale operations and provide more payment methods to customers.
Tap to Pay allows businesses to accept contactless payments without the need to integrate additional hardware. Ireland becomes the latest European country Mollie has embedded the Apple payment method, following launches in France, Germany and the Netherlands.
The Ireland launch helps further Mollie’s ambitions of making “money management effortless” by allowing businesses to integrate fast, convenient and secure payments to scale their operations to more customers and retain them.
Koen Köppen, CEO of Mollie, said: “Tap to Pay on iPhone represents a significant step forward in simplifying and securing the payment process for merchants and consumers alike.
“Merchants can now offer a seamless, fast and contactless experience with just an iPhone that their customers can trust. We are proud to support businesses of all sizes with an innovation that combines state-of-the-art security with the convenience that today’s customers expect.”
Apple Tap to Pay has grown as a viable payment solution for small businesses in particular due to its easy-to-use capabilities and acceptance of payments from iPhones that many consumers own.
By integrating Tap to Pay, Irish merchants are able to implement the solution via the Mollie app, where they can also track payments, streamline refunds, access funding and manage accounting.
Other key features of Tap to Pay includes contactless debit and credit card convenience by utilising Apple’s NFC technology, as well as enhanced security to provide ease-of-mind to both merchant and customer.
