European financial services provider Mollie has integrated a wide range of payment services provided by PayPal.
Aimed at delivering secure and seamless payment solutions for European marketplaces, Mollie’s latest strategic partnership with PayPal enables the latter’s payment solutions to be used within the European Union and UK on its platform.
Mollie will integrate PayPal credit and debit card support, along with digital wallets, bank transfers and local payment methods. The German-based payment company also supports Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and accepts gift cards at multi-seller checkouts.
Guillaume Demier, Sr. Director Partnerships Europe at PayPal, said: “Marketplaces have been a growing share of total e-commerce for years and an area of exciting innovation.
“The combination of Mollie’s strengths and PayPal’s seamless and secure consumer experiences is well suited for the Marketplace segment. We are already seeing high demand and we expect to see continued strength from the collaboration.”
Central to the PayPal partnership is Mollie Connect, an embedded payment platform for marketplaces to drive revenue and reduce operational costs.
Mollie Connect’s managed support and onboarding seek to streamline operations and reduce overhead, allowing platforms to focus on growth without the operational costs or technical burdens.
Paul van der Boor, Group Product Manager for Partnerships at Mollie, added: “Mollie Connect helps businesses to minimise operational costs through support and onboarding, facilitating seamless scaling without the need for extensive coding or complex setups.
“By collaborating with PayPal, we are advancing our mission to simplify payments for platforms. Marketplaces can now offer PayPal to their customers without requiring a separate PayPal integration and re-onboarding all of their sellers.
“Instead, they can outsource all technical complexity and operational workload to Mollie. This allows the marketplace to focus on its core strengths, while Mollie handles all payment-related tasks, empowering marketplaces and SaaS platforms with seamless payment integration and monetisation.”
