European financial service provider Mollie has entered the Italian market as part of its wider European expansion.
Italian e-commerce businesses will now be able to integrate Mollie’s single payment processing platform along with offering localised payment solutions, such as Italian services Satispay and Bancomat Pay.
This will allow Mollie to serve new local businesses while also supporting existing customers with their cross-border plans by integrating these local payment methods. Additionally, the company ensures a swift and localised onboarding experience, supported in local languages.
Italian businesses will also be able to leverage existing Mollie plug-in integrations with e-commerce sites such as Shopify, Shopware, Magento and WooCommerce for seamless implementation.
Koen Köppen, CEO of Mollie, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring the Mollie experience to even more businesses across Europe, especially as we expand into a key European market: Italy.
“This launch enables us to serve new customers in a new market while also supporting our existing customers with their cross-border plans in Italy, thanks to the hyperlocal payment methods we’ve introduced.
“As we continue to expand into new markets, our mission remains clear: to make money management effortless for every business in Europe. Expanding into Italy represents a key step toward achieving that goal.”
With its launch in Italy, Mollie enters the fourth-largest e-commerce market, followed by Germany (third), France (second), and the UK (first).
With an established engineering hub based in Milan, Mollie seeks to continue to grow the local team with commercial talent to drive the business forward, aiming to offer a hyper local experience tailored to the specific needs of Italian businesses.
