Salt Edge has united with Roundups in its mission to raise millions through adding up pennies left from payment transactions and donating them to charities and non-profit organisations.

It comes as all aspects of financial life, including charities increase their online presence. Through its mobile app, UK based Roundups, seeks to bring digital donations into the mainstream at a time when it has never been more needed to do so.

Sean Donnelly, Co-Founder at Roundups commented: “We were proactively looking for a technical service provider and Salt Edge was the most interested in our social mission and helping us build a community of philanthropists.

“They took the time to understand our business, its challenges and were flexible in light of them. Using the Salt Edge plugin is a no-brainer for us. Their vast coverage of financial institutions means that we can offer our roundup-and-donate service to users in Europe and beyond.”

Salt Edge Partner Program allows Roundups to get instant access to open banking channels in a PSD2 compliant way without acquiring a PSD2 licence. In the app, users can choose many sources of financial data, so for this process to work seamlessly it is important to process all the transactions from all the connected accounts.

Salt Edge enables Roundups to connect to the CMA9 and major UK banks: AmEx, Bank of Ireland, Bank of Scotland, Barclays, Capital One, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, Monzo, Santander, Ulster, and to over 5000 financial institutions worldwide.

Jason O’Shaughnessy, SVP of Sales at Salt Edge concluded: “In a fully digitized world, all the finances should be simple and we are happy to combine our forces with Roundups to help people donate in a new effortless way. As small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world, the same way some loose change from millions of transactions can make a difference.”
