Cross-border payment provider MANSA has successfully closed a $10m funding round with USDT issuer Tether among one of its investors.

Tether and Polymorphic Capital helped raise $3m for MANSA to continue on its objectives of addressing liquidity challenges for businesses when it comes to performing cross-border payments worldwide.

Other notable investors of the funding round included Octerra Capital, Faculty Group and Trive Digital. MANSA secured $7m in liquidity funding from various other financial institutions, corporate investors and quantitative funds.

Mouloukou Sanoh, CEO and Co-Founder of MANSA, stated: “Securing $10m in pre-seed and liquidity funding marks a significant milestone in our mission to transform the way money moves.

“By bringing payments on-chain and leveraging efficient liquidity solutions, we are addressing critical challenges in cross-border transactions—making payments faster, cheaper, and more reliable worldwide.

“This funding accelerates our global expansion, enabling us to empower payment companies with seamless, real-time settlement infrastructure and drive the future of payments.”

The additional funds will help accelerate MANSA’s expansion plans into Latin America and Southeast Asia, alongside a rollout of liquidity and ancillary solutions designed to find solutions to complex cross-border payment needs.

Since its launch in August 2024, MANSA has built partnerships with global payment companies in a plethora of regions to focus on providing instant liquidity solutions to enable cross-border payments.

Writing for Payment Expert recently, Nkiru Uwaje, Co-Founder & COO of MANSA, stressed the importance of cross-border liquidity and addressed the challenges of providing real-time settlements across borders.

MANSA has also supported stablecoins as a settlement facilitator for the acceleration of cross-border payments. Stablecoins, like Tether’s USDT, have been used in use cases to unearth new methods of cross-border transactions to be settled almost instantaneously.

“MANSA’s vision for addressing liquidity challenges in cross-border payments aligns with our mission to create a more efficient and inclusive financial system,” commented Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.

“By leveraging USDT for real-time settlements and instant payouts, MANSA is solving critical pain points for payment companies operating in emerging markets. We are proud to collaborate with MANSA and support their efforts to reshape global payment infrastructure.”
