The Swedish fintech which went public in the US last year will provide its instalment-based payment services to JP Morgan’s merchants which processes $2.6 trillion annually.
Klarna has announced today (6 August) it has integrated its buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) services for JP Morgan Payments merchants.
Merchants that use the JP Morgan Payments Commerce Platform will now be able to offer customers Klarna’s BNPL instalment-based methods, which allows users to pay either immediately or over monthly instalments, ranging from 30 days to 24 months.
The instalment-based payments are interest free and JP Morgan Payments will support the integration of the Klarna app for further services, such as long-term financing insights.
Michael Lozanoff, Global Head of Merchant Services at JP Morgan Payments, said: “In talking with merchants every day, we know flexible payments drive conversion, but implementation can be a barrier.
“By bringing Klarna directly onto our Commerce Platform, we’re helping remove that barrier for businesses of every size. This is an example of the kind of integrations our merchants are seeking.”
Expanded US reach
Despite launching its public listing on the New York Stock Exchange in September 2025, the BNPL providers’ opening price of $42 per share has more than halved, currently trading at $20.28 at the time of writing.
The integration into JP Morgan Payments Commerce Platform could see Klarna’s services expand to new merchant segments being part of the largest merchant acquirer in the US.
JP Morgan Payments processes over $2.6 trillion annually, being an acquirer for retail marketplaces such as Macy’s, Paramount Pictures and Sephora.
The recent integration builds on the BNPL provider’s initial agreement with JP Morgan Payments last year.
In the announcement, the Swedish fintech will join the JP Morgan Payments Partner Network, which looks to connect the bank’s payment solutions with third-party providers to help businesses develop and implement payment strategies.
The Klarna integration is expected to launch later this year, which David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna, labelled a “major milestone for Klarna”.
“By collaborating with JP Morgan Payments, we’re bringing our payment solutions to even more businesses and fast-tracking our ambition to make Klarna payments available everywhere, for everything.
Together with JP Morgan Payments, we’re giving shoppers the flexibility they want while helping businesses grow faster.”
