BlockDAG has partnered with its second European football team this week after securing a new multi-million dollar deal with Italian football giants Inter Milan

This marks the first time Inter Milan has named an official club blockchain partner, with the deal focusing on innovation both on-and-off the pitch. It is not the club’s first foray into blockchain, however – earlier this week it named crypto company Gate.io as its new shirt sleeve sponsor

This marks the first time Inter Milan have partnered with a blockchain company, with BlockDAG becoming the club’s official blockchain partner. The partnership will focus on innovation on-and-off the pitch.

As a result of the deal, BlockDAG will be able to leverage the Serie A club’s mass fanbase across Italy and Europe, enhancing its visibility and brand. The company will also be able to showcase its technology on LED screens inside the San Siro on matchdays.

BlockDAG’s digital presence will also be bolstered with weekly social media posts, exclusive content featuring Inter Milan star players and a series of campaigns designed to boost the company’s brand awareness.

Antony Turner, CEO of BlockDAG, said: “Teaming up with Inter Milan, a club with a storied history and a massive following, is a huge milestone for BlockDAG as we have the privilege to support such a legendary football club both on and off the field.

“This collaboration not only elevates our brand but also positions us at the forefront of blockchain adoption in mainstream sports. We are excited to explore the heights this partnership will reach and to showcase the power of BlockDAG to millions of passionate football fans around the world.”

The BlockDAG and Inter Milan deal is another example of blockchain and football’s commercial relationship becoming increasingly stronger, not just in the case of Inter Milan but indicating a wider sporting trend.

Similar deals include Manchester United teaming up with Tezos and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys partnering with Blockchain.com. Most recently, BlockDAG also partnered with another European football heavyweight.

This week, BVB Dortmund signed a deal with the firm, covering similar branding and collaborative opportunities. This strategic growth plan across Europe for BlockDAG will look to leverage the major platform that football provides for companies.
