Payment solutions provider Cardstream has signed with payments platform NomuPay to strengthen merchant operations.

The collaboration will allow Cardstream-supported merchants to accept transactions in more than 145 currencies, utilising NomuPay’s established infrastructure spanning across over 40 markets in both Europe and Asia.

Following a recent expansion into Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the Philippines, NomuPay is now eyeing up Turkey as a potential portfolio addon where businesses can receive local payments.

Peter Burridge, CEO of NomuPay, said: “Our partnership with Cardstream is a reflection of our strategy to build a network of networks and provide our clients access to the widest ‘global’ payments network, through our ecosystem partners.

“Cardstream shares our drive to simplify international commerce and help merchants to collect local payments globally through a single payment connection.”

In addition to receiving new opportunities through NomuPay’s global network, merchants will also benefit from Cardstream’s focus on security. Last year, the company successfully integrated Kount’s AI-Driven Fraud Protection model which aims to combat rising financial and other forms of digital fraud.

Commenting on the launch, Cardstream’s CEO Adam Sharpe said: “Our partnership with NomuPay reaffirms our ability to enable our partners and their merchants to scale their businesses globally.

“Peter has built a team of specialists across technology and payments with a great understanding of the markets they operate within. The value they add to OPN, Cardstream’s Open Payment Network, is massive and I encourage our existing Partners to explore the services they provide.”
