OKTO has announced that it has successfully achieved the highest security standard certification in the payments sector.

The digital payments provider recently upgraded from a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 3.2 to a PCI DSS 4.0. The firm says that this step is further evidence of its “unwavering commitment to security excellence”.

Commenting on the achievement, John Zacharakis, OKTO’s Technology Director, said: “Obtaining the PCI DSS 4.0 certification is a pivotal milestone for OKTO. It underscores our dedication to providing a secure environment for our clients’ financial transactions.

“We continuously invest in leading technologies to meet and exceed industry standards, and this certification is a clear demonstration of our commitment to security and compliance.”

Through the newly-achieved compliance standard, OKTO can ensure that it provides the most rigorous security controls and procedures to clients in accordance with the internationally recognised PCI DSS.

The standards are also mandated by global payment systems such as those of Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, with OKTO fully capable of handling cardholder data.

Recently, OKTO was chosen as a payments partner by Italian igaming firm Macao Srl for its secure cash-to-digital payments platform and digitised customer journey.
