Klarna has once again teamed up with Airbnb to offer the accommodation provider’s instalment payments plan Pay Over Time to UK customers.

The launch is part of Airbnb’s plans to start offering reservation payments spread across the calendar in three continents by early 2024.

This follows a successful roll-out of the service in Ireland back in October, when both partners announced plans to continue with the introduction of accommodation instalment payments in other countries.

Raji Behal, Head of Southwest Europe, UK & Ireland, said: “Airbnb tells us that one of the top requests from their guests is more ways to pay for their stays. We’re thrilled to bring Klarna’s flexible payment options to Airbnb guests around the globe.”

The difference between the Irish offering and the one in the UK is that customers in Ireland can use Pay Over Time and its interest-free instalments over two months for reservations between €35 and €1,500. People travelling around the UK can do the same for bookings between £35 and £4,000.

Other countries in Europe where the service is available include France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal.

Amanda Cupples, General Manager of Northern Europe, added: “We’re pleased to bring Pay Over Time with Klarna to the UK, giving guests greater flexibility to spread their payments over a number of weeks or months.

“Whether you’re booking a solo trip, or organising a get together with friends, choosing the right payment plan has just become a lot easier.”
