Xsolla to consolidate player payments in Asia with Alipay+

Xsolla

Game commerce company Xsolla has signed Alipay+ as a general payments partner in a deal that will focus on Southeast Asian penetration.

The solution suite that Xsolla will get a hold of includes cross-border mobile payments initiators and marketing tools from the Alipay+ parent company, Chinese conglomerate Ant Group.

A selection of customer-targeted promotion offerings will be available to Xsolla’s gaming partners across the Enterprise, Mid-Tier and Indie business model range. Players will also be able to choose their preferred local payment method to allow for the direct purchase of game-related material, Xsolla stated.

Chris Hewish, President of Xsolla, commented: “As the mobile gaming industry evolves, we are staying ahead of the curve by offering unique features to our mobile solution to help our partners connect directly with their players.”

In terms of market share, Xsolla has been recently looking to move north of what they’re worth in Asia after operating in the region for eight years stationed in Seoul, South Korea.

Earlier this year, the company managed to strike a deal with India’s payments solutions provider Paytm Payment Gateway (Paytm). Two new offices were opened in both China and Malaysia.
