Crypto-focused betting and gaming firm Yolo Group has conducted a restructuring of its operations, injecting significant investment into its Hub88 payments platform.

By investing additional capital into Hub88 via its Yolo Ventures B2B and partnerships arm, Yolo Group aims to speed up the growth of the content aggregator platform and harness open banking technology.

Yolo aims to ultimately be able to offer open banking-based international banking services to all of its partner companies, conducted using Yolo Investments asset Aims Financial, a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated enterprise.

The restructuring has also seen Christine Lewis, who formerly served at NetEnt and was most recently the Chief Commercial Officer at Pariplay, carry out the role of CEO of Yolo’s Bombay Group subsidiary. Her responsibilities will include heading up Hub88 as well as the mobile-focused games studio OneTouch and live casino product Bombay Club.

“We’re putting into place a world-class team to take our B2B gaming businesses to the next level, and Christine is a vital part of it,” remarked Marrja Pärt, CEO of Yolo Group, which rebranded from its original Coingaming Group identity last month.

“Her experience at some of the biggest names in our industry stands her apart, and she’s exactly the type of disruptive thinker we welcome at the Yolo Group. It’s great to have her onboard.”

Additional appointments as part of the restructuring will see acting head of OneTouch Ragnar Toompere sit on the board of Yolo Ventures, whilst Jose Micallef will join the B2B partnerships division as Chief Operations Officer.

Meanwhile, Neil Howells will be responsible for the commercial management of the Bombay Group, building on his previous coordination of Bombay Studios, and James Corrie will continue his oversight of the firm’s studio projects as Head of Live Studios.

Commenting on her new role, Lewis said: “I’ve watched the remarkable growth of Yolo Group over the past few years with interest. Hub88, OneTouch and more recently the Bombay Club live studio are changing the game with new approaches to old challenges. It’s a real honour to join the team.”
