Vantiv moves to shutdown Worldpay Atlanta operations

US business news sources have reported that Vantiv owned global payments processing technology Worldpay Inc is set to cut between 200-to-250 jobs from its Atlanta Georgia operations hub.

This week Worldpay governance filled a notice of its upcoming corporate motion with the Georgia State Department of Labour.

Worldpay a former FTSE100 company, had established its US operational presence in Atlanta since 2014, when the company was awarded a City technology enterprise grant of $1.5 million.

Nevertheless, US credit card processing conglomerate Vantiv’s $10.5 billion acquisition of Worldpay (announced Febuary 2018), would see the technology group undertake a restructure and streamline of its global divisions.

Merging a number of operational units with Vantiv, Worldpay has moved to reduce headcount within its Atlanta hub, as Vantiv’s Governors Hill complex in Cincinnati Ohio becomes the operational centre for the enlarged business.
