Serie A’s AC Milan has extended its partnership with cryptocurrency company Bitpanda which will see the latter become a shirt sponsor for the Italian football club.
Bitpanda will now receive branding on the back of AC Milan men’s first-team shirts, which was first showcased during Milan’s 1-1 draw against cross-city rivals Inter Milan in the ‘Derby della Madonnina’ yesterday (2 February).
Furthermore, Bitpanda also became a principal partner of AC Milan as part of the partnership expansion, with both parties continuing to champion the benefits of crypto education and the benefits it can provide.
Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, commented: “We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with Bitpanda and welcome them onto our iconic red and black jersey as our new Back-of-Shirt sponsor.
“The expansion of our partnership reflects our shared values of innovation and excellence, as well as our mutual ambition to create meaningful experiences for our global fanbase, which spans over 500 million fans worldwide.
“We are proud to support Bitpanda in their growth journey and look forward to achieving even greater success together, both on and off the pitch.”
The 19-time Serie A champions first partnered with Bitpanda last summer, as the crypto company became AC Milan’s official crypto trading partner with a shared commitment to “innovation and excellence”.
The extension signals Bitpanda’s intent to become one of the leading crypto companies in Europe, having inked similar deals with other football clubs across the continent. Over the past year, Bitpanda has signed agreements with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the NFL for its international games in Germany.
The back-of-shirt-sponsorship with AC Milan will help to fuel Bitpanda’s growth and visibility in Italy for domestic games, as well as across the European stage for Milan fixtures in the UEFA Champions League.
Eric Demuth, Co-Founder and CEO of Bitpanda, added: “The first six months of our partnership with AC Milan have been marked by great collaboration and mutual commitment.
“It quickly became clear that we wanted to take it even further – and now, the timing couldn’t be better. Starting with the Derby, we will be featured as the Back-of-Shirt sponsor, taking our partnership to the next level. Excited for what is ahead. Forza Milan!”
