Crypto platform Bitpanda has secured a three-year exclusive partnership with Alexander Zverev, the world’s second-ranked tennis player.

As part of the agreement, Zverev will showcase the Bitpanda logo on his sleeve at all ATP and Grand Slam events globally, with his first appearance featuring the branding at the ATP Finals in Turin.

Additionally, the partnership will feature fan events, social media campaigns and exclusive content, including behind-the-scenes insights into Zverev’s journey and investment tips, designed to engage and educate both new and experienced investors.

Eric Demuth, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitpanda, commented: “Alexander Zverev is one of the most talented athletes of his generation, and recognised for his performance, perseverance and authenticity – values that align perfectly with Bitpanda’s mission.

“We’re thrilled to welcome him as our Global Ambassador and excited to support him on his journey. Together, we aim to inspire a new generation of investors and show that finance, like sports, requires dedication and focus to achieve success.  Welcome to the team, Alexander.”

To mark the partnership, Bitpanda shared a video across its social media channels.

Bitpanda has increasingly turned to sports to enhance its visibility and attract new customers. In addition to its collaboration with Zverev, the platform has existing partnerships with tennis stars Stan Wawrinka and Dominic Thiem. Outside of tennis, Bitpanda also has deals with major sports teams such as FC Bayern Munich, AC Milan and the NFL.

Commenting on the deal, Zverev said: “I am thrilled to have a strong brand like Bitpanda by my side for the next three years, a brand that shares the same high standards I set for myself.

“Bitpanda’s mission to make digital assets accessible to everyone, giving people more control over their future, resonates with my belief that taking responsibility and pushing to achieve the best are key to success –  both on and off the court.”

Other finance firms have increasingly used this tactic of aligning with athletes and sports organisations, one of them being eToro. To delve into the benefits of such collaborations, Insider Sport spoke with Stephanie Wilks-Wiffen, Director of Marketing for the UK and DACH at eToro.
