Insurtech Qover has partnered with Mastercard to enhance the shopping experience in Belgium and Luxembourg.

For Mastercard credit cardholders in the two aforementioned countries, Qover’s platform will enable return shipping cost protection that refunds shipping fees when retailers don’t provide them.

This will be available on mastercard.be and mastercard.lu in Belgium and Luxembourg for consumers, adding an extra layer of shopping protection for the entire retail experience.

Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-Founder of Qover, commented: “Embedded protection is becoming a strategic tool for businesses to enhance customer value and build loyalty. We’re honoured by Mastercard’s trust and are excited to bring this innovative solution to their cardholders.”

According to Qover, nine out of 10 Belgians shopped online in early 2024, with clothing coming out as the number one purchase category.

With Mastercard’s new return protection, shipping return reimbursements cover returns from up to €30 per return and a maximum of three claims or €90 per cardholder annually.

Henri Dewaerheijd, Country Manager of Mastercard Belgium and Luxembourg, added: “We’re excited to unveil this new solution in collaboration with the rising star of European insurtech, Qover.

“This unique protection reinforces the value of Mastercard credit cards for online purchases and enhances the online shopping experience for our Belgian and Luxembourg cardholders.”
