Mangopay, a payment infrastructure provider, has appointed Bertrand Dezard to its team as Head of Sales for Fraud.

In his new position, Dezard will spearhead the expansion of Mangopay’s international fraud business, with a primary focus on Europe and Latin America as the company expands the client base of its cybersecurity solution.

With over 15 years of experience in the payment and fraud prevention sector, Bertrand joins Mangopay with a wealth of industry knowledge. He most recently led the commercial organisation at Ravelin, a company known for its expertise in fraud detection.

Prior to that, Bertrand held senior roles at Payplug, Braintree, and Visa Europe. In these roles he successfully implemented commercial optimization tools for clients, leveraging his expertise in detecting patterns associated with the latest fraudulent techniques and behaviours.

Bertrand added: “Mangopay’s modular solution and its deep understanding of the specific needs of marketplaces and platforms sets the company apart. That is why I have followed the business closely since its inception, and I am excited to join during this period of expansion.

“At Mangopay, we’re constantly working to innovate and evolve our product offering and that includes our anti-fraud solutions. I look forward to working alongside Mangopay’s CEO Romain Mazeries and our talented team of fraud prevention experts to drive the international growth of the group.”

Since 2013, Mangopay has offered its modular payment infrastructure to prominent marketplaces across the globe. In 2023, the company enhanced its services by partnering with Nethone, experts in fraud detection and prevention.

This strategic move bolstered Mangopay’s offerings to clients, introducing proprietary cybersecurity technology expertise, and intelligence.

In collaboration, Mangopay’s cybersecurity solution, developed by Nethone, uses AI technology to protect against various threats such as account takeover and payment fraud. It also offers real-time detection, darknet insights and device fingerprinting to keep businesses safe from advanced fraudsters.

Romain Mazeries, CEO of Mangopay, commented: “Bertrand brings impressive experience to accelerate the international growth of our fraud prevention offer, which represents a new and exciting proposition for the industry, with cutting-edge innovations and insights.

“He joins Mangopay at an exciting stage in our journey, and I look forward to working closely with him to keep platforms safe and enable their growth with our award-winning solution.”
