Brentford FC has launched an initiative to support fans who are suffering financial strains during the Christmas period as a result of the cost-of-living crisis.
Any credit being held in fans’ ticket accounts can now be withdrawn and received before Christmas if the request is made by 11 am 13 December. .
In 2022, the cost-of-living crisis drove UK’s inflation levels to an all-time high. The FCA warned that 55% of consumers are concerned about their finances.
A Brentford statement read: “To help support fans who may require some flexibility over the festive period, throughout December we are offering you the option of withdrawing your ticketing credit to your bank account.”.
“If a request is made after the above timeline but before 2 January, the west London Premier League club added that the cash will be received “at the beginning of the new year”.
Since acquiring the club in 2012, the Bees’ owner Matthew Benham has brought immense improvements to the team by leading it from the third tier to the Premier League.
His analytical style, reflected in his background as a professional gambler, saw him develop the club on and off the pitch, including the construction and opening of the Gtech Community Stadium.
Throughout the season, Brentford FC stood out as one of the four PL teams to offer the cheapest prices. Compared to the price hikes seen almost everywhere else in the league, Brentford kept their cheapest season tickets at £419, and the most expensive at £549.
