Bitcoin platform STXNFT has announced the launch of its new NFT-centred brand Gamma.io.

STXNFT aims for Gamm.io to become a Web3 social hub for NFTs as the firm seeks to create a home for collectors, creators and investors. The platform aims to bring people together to explore, trade and showcase NFTs through the Bitcoin blockchain.

To celebrate Gamm.io’s launch, a series of original artworks will be commissioned by the Web3 hub titled ‘Together, with Gamma’. The artworks will feature “several dozen digital collectibles of varying styles’, which depict a theme of people coming together in the Bitcoin and Web3 world.

Following the announcement, STXNFT stated that 100% of revenues and royalties on the Gamma platform will be distributed to artists with their work featured in the collection.

“We have seen how NFTs have revolutionised the world of digital assets over the past year, connecting artists, collectors, curators and creators,” commented Jamil Dhanani, Founder and CEO of Gamma.

“We’ve made friends, found communities and invested in projects we’ve believed in, through this powerful tool that has brought people from all over the world together. Gamma is the next step in that evolution, doubling down on community and putting the collectors, artists and curators first.”

NFTs originated on the Bitcoin blockchain back in 2016, but made their way to other blockchains such as Ethereum due to the base layer technology limitations on Bitcoin.

Running its NFTs through the Bitcoin blockchain, Gamma believes that the decentralisation of the cryptocurrency will be able to be extended to NFT tokens, whilst also relying upon its widespread trust with years of being a settlement layer for assets.

Gamma hopes to unlock Bitcoin’s capabilities and make it a productive method to accelerate the adoption of Web3 technologies and their value.
