Trustly has partnered with foodora, a leading food delivery service to introduce an innovative checkout service option for the latter’s customers.

The new payment solution will enable foodora customers to pay for their orders directly from their bank account, eliminating the need for credit or debit cards. This aims to provide a quicker and more seamless payment experience, resulting in greater customer satisfaction and more successful transactions.

Trustly has announced that the new payment solution will initially launch in Finland, with plans to expand into other European markets such as Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Austria.

Jussi Lindberg, Chief Revenue Officer at Trustly, commented: “We are excited to bring Trustly’s Open Banking payment solution to foodora’s platform. Our technology is designed to make online payments as simple and secure as possible.

“By partnering with foodora, we aim to enhance the payment experience for both customers and vendors, driving higher conversion rates and customer satisfaction.”

Trustly has highlighted several benefits of the new payment solution, including lower transaction costs for foodora and faster payment processing for its partners. The Open Banking leader also assures that restaurants and shops on foodora could also see increased conversion rates due to the streamlined payment process.

Herbert Haas, Chief International Officer Europe at foodora, said: “We chose to partner with Trustly as its cutting-edge open banking payment solution aligns perfectly with foodora’s commitment to innovation and to improve the customer experience.

“Trustly’s technology offers a seamless alternative to traditional card payments, which not only improves the efficiency of transactions for our customers but also has the potential to increase conversion for our partners.”

Trustly has made numerous connections with companies already this year. Most recently, the company expanded its international reach by partnering with payments orchestration platform BR-DGE in June.
