Canadian airline WestJet has co-launched the Canadian Priceless Platform with Mastercard in a bid to gain exclusive benefits.

WestJet RBC Mastercard cardholders will be able to access the platform to be able to attain unique experiences at world-class events, cooking classes with famous chefs, tours of cities and more benefits.

The airline becomes the first Canadian Mastercard partner to launch its own ‘Priceless’ benefits service and will look to enable cardholders to choose experiences based on their lifestyle and passions

WestJet VP of Loyalty, Steve McClelland, said: “Our purpose is to provide value and choice to cardholders, so they can save on travel and explore the many destinations across our growing network.

“Through our continued partnership with Mastercard, the Priceless Platform builds on this and allows us to ensure we’re providing Canadians with the opportunity to make the most of their travel with WestJet.”

The launch comes after the companies extended their long-term partnership last year, with Mastercard finding that consumers are looking for products and services that elevate their journey.

The global card giant reveals that consumers have prioritised meaningful experiences over material goods, even when travelling. Spending on experiences now totals 12% of tourism sales, according to the recent findings from the Mastercard Economics Institute’s Travel Trends 2024. This marks the highest point percentage of spending on experiences in at least five years as of March 2024.

Balinder Ahluwalia, SVP & Group Head of Market Development and Digital Partnerships, Mastercard, Canada, added: “We’re proud to provide cardholders with exceptional value and additional benefits that they desire through this partnership with WestJet.

“The Priceless Platform takes travel experiences to another level for cardholders, and we’re excited to launch this for the first time in Canada with exclusive experiences and personalised content for WestJet cardholders.”
