Justin Farrin-Thorne has become Xprizo‘s Head of Operations, joining the company at a time of significant development in one of the firm’s target industries, igaming.
Farrin-Thorne’s chief remit will be to oversee the company’s teams, deliver its ‘functional responsibilities’, implement controls and manage ‘all aspects’ of operational functions. This will include another one of its key areas, that being addressing unbanked communities.
Additional areas of focus for the new Head of Operations include cultivating a high performance culture centred around learning and development, leaning on his 17-year experience in hospitality, gaming and payments.
“Xprizo is embracing a new approach to navigating the challenging landscape where traditional banking options don’t exist,” Farrin-Thorne remarked.
“Working with Xprizo means we can truly make a difference for the millions of people either under-banked or un-banked around the world.”
Prior to joining Xprizo, Farrin-Thorne worked as Operations Manager of Transact Payments, an eMoney institution (EMI) and Card Issuer based in Malta.
Before this he was Payments Project Manager at GeoGaming Group, also headquartered on the Mediterranean island, a regional hub for the European igaming sector and home to numerous operators and suppliers.
He joins Xprizo as the firm eyes up opportunities in the globally growing igaming sector, with the UAE-based enterprise noting particular opportunities in South America.
Brazil in particular has been marked as a market posing significant growth potential following the approval of nationwide regulation by President Lula da Silva, as Xprizo Chief Vision Officer, Richard Mifsud, explained to Payment Expert earlier this month.
