Australians using the Tyro Payments network can now securely transact with their iPhones after the company announced its app is now compatible with iOS.
Through the Tyro BYO mobile app, users can utilise any iPhone’s Tap-to-Pay functionality to make contactless payments. Additional payment options that can be onboarded on to the Tyro app include credit and debit cards, as well as digital wallets.
Checkouts will be able to accept contactless transactions without the need to install additional hardware, using only NFC technology to process customer payments without storing any information on Apple servers.

The contactless payments feature is available on any device with iOS version 16.4 or higher. Signing up can be done by making an account through the Tyro Portal.
