BankiFi adds former Wells Fargo exec to Board of Directors

Embedded banking firm BankiFi has added Steve Ellis to its Board of Directors to help in its growing ambitions for the North American market.

Ellis arrives at BankiFi with over 35 years of experience in banking, financial services and leadership, having previously held a position as the Executive Vice-President of US banking giant Wells Fargo.

As well as being Head of the Innovation group at Wells Fargo, Ellis spearheaded the wholesale services group and improved upon the company’s direction.

“BankiFi’s unique strategy to provide specialised banking solutions is perfectly suited to helping millions of small businesses across America,” said Ellis.

“I’m excited to join the team over at BankiFi on the ground level of their North American operations.”

Ellis will now assume the role of a Director of the BankiFi board where he will be relied upon to establish organisational goals and structure, as well as providing financial oversight of the company’s North American operations.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Steve as our newest board member,” added Fred Dumas, US Board Chair for BankiFi Americas.

“When Steve led Wholesale Banking at Wells Fargo, his visions of a CEO treasury management system were brought to life. This became the benchmark for the industry. His vision and leadership will be of great help to our board. We’re already looking on track to have a breakthrough year for us in 2023.”

Additionally, BankiFi states that Ellis has been “deeply committed to environmental causes for decades”.

He and his wife are actively involved in My Friends Place, a non-profit focused on assisting homeless youth in Los Angeles.
