Chicago Mayor and Deputy London Mayor a number of names attending Fintech Week London

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is heading to Fintech Week London this July to discuss the city’s commitment to furthering equality and inclusion in the city’s fintech sector.

Attracting speakers of the fintech industry across the globe, Fintech Week London is also welcoming Deputy Mayor of London for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, to discuss the capital’s continuation in attracting global investors to London’s fintech ecosystem.

Taking place from 11-15 July, Fintech Week London 2022 returns as an in-person event, inviting some of fintech’s biggest players for a learning and networking event that aims to deliver on its premise; ‘The coming of age of the fintech industry’.

“It’s brilliant that Fintech Week London 2022 is back as an in-person event this year with tickets in huge demand,” stated Raf De Kimpe, CEO of Fintech Week London.

“With high-quality speakers and fantastic sponsors already confirmed for 2022 – and even more to be revealed – this year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever before.”

Fintech Week London seeks to explore six themes of the event: Open Banking/Banking as a Service, Digital Sovereignty, Big Tech and Big Banks Coopetition, Trends in Fintech, Crypto and fintech for good.

Director International at the FCA, Rich Fox, CEO of Mode, Rita Liu and representatives of Lloyds Bank, UBS and Morgan Stanley are some of the 2,000 attendees expected to be present at the event.

De Kimpe continued: “Fintech Week London is more than just an opportunity to ‘show and tell’ using infomercials dressed up as discussion panels, instead we’ll have the industry’s very best delving deep into fascinating, hot topics for an honest reflection on the good, the bad and the ugly aspects of the fintech industry.

“This year will also be far more dynamic, with a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style opportunity for five amazing companies, who will pitch their ideas to a panel of angel investors all in front of a live audience and audience interaction. We can’t wait to showcase some of the best that London and global fintech has to offer.”

The event will start with a two day conference at 133 Houndsditch, Liverpool Street, followed by a range of events including the Open Source Finance Forum, The Fintech Awards London ceremony and more.
