Calvin Ayre to halt gambling focus and shift to crypto has halted updates and will no longer publish industry news for the global gambling sector, as the company’s founder confirmed his focus has switched to the development of the nascent crypto and bitcoin marketplaces, through his new website

The move has also seen renowned industry reporter Rebecca Liggero confirm that she is joining Ayre in moving to, covering crypto-related business developments.

Ayre, the founder of Bodog Entertainment, launched in 2009, having relinquished all active roles within the online gambling sector.

He offered the following update on his website regarding the latest developments: “I launched due to my dissatisfaction with the news sites that then dominated discussion of the gaming sector.

“I found their coverage too deferential to the established giants of the day and too oblivious of the changes I saw looming on the horizon”.

Ayre remarked that the decision to close down the website was taken as his personal focus had shifted to covering crypto activities. Meanwhile, business contributors Rafi Farber, Daniel Gardner, Erik Gibbs and Derek Tonin all published their final goodbyes.

“You never forget your first love,” Ayre remarked closing his statement, “I encourage you to visit and join me on my next great adventure.”
