Multi-currency IBAN account provider ONPEX has partnered with online business account provider, Intergiro to equip the latter with cross-border and multi-currency capabilities.

Launched this year and regulated in Sweden as an eMoney institution (EMI), Intergiro provides its customers with corporate accounts.

Previously its customers were forced to use standard IBAN accounts with European SEPA payments.

Through the new partnership, the EMI will now be able to provide its international customers with online multi-currency payments.

Nick Root, CEO at Intergiro, elaborated: “We’re on a mission to provide the financial toolkit that businesses need to thrive in the digital era, and ONPEX has been crucial in helping us on this journey.

“Access to the SWIFT payment network and ONPEX’ multi-currency IBANs helps us to better serve our existing customers and grow our customer base throughout Europe and across the globe.”

The EMI will utilise ONPEX’ Payment-as-a-Service (PaaS) platform to build its own financial services using open API-technology.

Furthermore, prior to the partnership, Intergiro did not have access to the SWIFT payment network however ONPEX was also able to provide this connectivity.

Christoph Tutsch, CEO, ONPEX, added: “We recognise the importance of APIs when building a digital financial offering.

“Our Payment-as-a-Service platform will enable Intergiro to improve its value proposition for existing customers, while supporting even more customers with their international payment capabilities.”

Customers of Intergiro can transact across borders in a number of currencies, initially offering Great British Pounds (GBP), Swedish Krona (SEK), Norwegian Krone (NOK), and Danish Krone (DKK) – with availability to add up to 25 different currencies.
