Global payments provider Paysafe Group has unveiled a new mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution dubbed Mobile Pay.
The solution aims to provide a “highly flexible” approach to mobile payments and was developed in response to the demand from US small and medium-sized businesses SMBs.
According to a survey by Paysafe, 30% of American card-present SMBs in September 2018 planned to add mobile apps by end-2020.
Mobile Pay features apps developed in collaboration with Apriva, an omnichannel payments solutions company, and patented hardware from AnywhereCommerce, a mobile payments tech provider.
It enables merchants access to a suite of payment methods on their smartphone/tablet by connecting them to an AnywhereCommerce-designed Walker BT card reader via Bluetooth or USB.
Having soft launched in Q3 2019, the mobile terminal product is said to already be used by approximately 17,000 US SMBs.
O.B. Rawls, president payment processing North America, Paysafe, commented: “Smart phone and tablet usage in the US has never been higher, which is serving as a catalyst for the strong growth in mobile payments, especially in the SMB space.
“We’re therefore excited to unveil Mobile Pay, an mPOS solution that marks a true step forward in mobile payments through our partnerships with two ‘best in class’ technology companies, Apriva and AnywhereCommerce.”
Mobile Pay’s dashboard features multi-merchant and user functionality, cloud-based inventory as well as real-time reporting and analytics. The mPOS is EMV and PCI DSS compliant and supports customisable mobile receipts.
