Spend management platform Payhawk has launched a specialised AI agent that aims to solve back office productivity and control operations.
Payhawk’s ‘AI Office of the CFO’ solution looks to manage transactions, policies, workflows and master data for company finance teams in order to relieve overpressuring workloads that may stifle productivity.
Deploying several AI agents under the solution, it can handle operational tasks with the permission of employees to secure confidence in decisions being made by AI.
Furthermore, the company is launching the suite with its Financial Controller Agent, which will take over tedious tasks of chasing receipts, analysing expense documents, and spotting unusual spending patterns.

Payhawk has been leveraging early-access OpenAI models to refine its AI agent technology, marking another objective in Payhawk’s journey to ‘redefine financial operations’ by adding AI agents to its unified spend management platform.
There are four key facets to the AI Office of the CFO suite, including the aforementioned Financial Controller Agent, as well as the Procurement Agent, the Travel Agent, and the Payment Agent.
These AI agents can be integrated into Payhawk’s infrastructure that finance teams can leverage to maintain visibility and control once the AI suite is deployed, backed by additional security features.
