Worldline and BNP Paribas Fortis have announced a partnership extension for the next five years to deliver “best in class and customer-centric issuing solutions”.

The pre-existing partnership has seen Wordline provide BNP Paribas Fortis with a range of issuing services, such as local and international debit and credit payment brands, POS and e-commerce payment methods, and customer services like dispute and fraud management.

Through the continued partnership, Worldline will continue to support BNP Paribas Fortis’s strategic initiatives and the completion of compliance projects to secure qualitative and quantitative results.

Alessandro Baroni, Head of Worldline Financial Services, said: “We are proud that BNP Paribas Fortis agreed to extend our partnership, as it is a clear token of trust. By committing to further enhancement of our service offerings and solidifying our presence at the forefront of innovation in the payments market.

“Worldline will be able to further support BNP Paribas Fortis through the delivery of high-quality, client-centric services. The extension of this partnership cements Worldline’s position as a key partner of banks, not only in Belgium, but across Europe and beyond.”

Elsewhere for Worldline, the payment company has been heavily strengthening its exploration into emerging technologies such as the metaverse, launching the Worldline Shopping Hub for e-commerce activations last year.

Speaking to Payment Expert recently, Sascha Muenger, Head of Competence of Crypto Related Products & Metaverse, spoke on the potential of the metaverse as a future home for e-commerce and payments.
