European online security firm iDenfy has agreed a partnership with Belgian football club Standard Liége, providing its full-stack ID and KYC security solutions.

The club’s online registration process will be amplified through the partnership, with iDenfy integrating its services for Standard Liége official club members and member card holders.

The Belgian Pro League club will use iDenfy’s KYC software to enable digital identity and streamline its registration process for additional supporters looking to join its exclusive member programme through remote registration, enabling the club to boost its online ticket and merchandise sales.

Once the registration process is complete, supporters will attain official membership status and receive a members-only card for matchdays. The digital card can also function as a payment method for in-stadium purchases.

Furthermore, Standard Liége will be able to track verified members if they are committing offences in the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium, in order to maintain the highest level of security at the football club.

Domantas Ciulde, CEO of iDenfy, commented: “With the growing sales of online tickets and the dedicated fanbase of Standard de Liège, we are honoured to provide our identity verification services and enhance the level of security in the sports and entertainment environment.”

An extension of the partnership will also explore the mitigation of ticket fraud, being one of the more pressing issues Standard Liége is looking to stamp out.

The online verification cards enables the club to identify and verify membership card holders through iDenfy’s four-step identity verification solution.

iDenfy extracts the information from government-issued ID documents to ensure an individual isn’t using a fake profile via an online platform. This onboarding process helps identify tickets buyers are genuine, minimising the risk of fraud.
