Blockchain platform Klaytn Foundation is partnering with OpenSea to build an NFT ecosystem in the continent.

Described as a ‘first of its kind’ partnership, the companies are planning NFT conferences and ecosystem development initiatives as a part of their collaboration, seeking to develop the adoption and growth of NFTs in Asia

The blockchain firm believes digital collectibles enable individuals to have ‘true ownership’, in which they can benefit from user-created digital content distributed within the metaverse.

“We’re excited to partner with OpenSea on these critical steps towards our vision of building a blockchain for metaverse, gamefi and the creator economy,” said David Shin, Head of Global Adoption at Klaytn.

“Through these partnership initiatives, our goal is to draw out innovative use cases and support the growth of the Klaytn ecosystem in Asia.”

Klaytn envisions NFTs to be the ‘key building blocks of the metaverse in Web3’ and by partnering with one of the most popular NFT marketplaces in OpenSea, this can help accelerate their presence within the Asian market.

The Web3 company has preexisting partners within Asia, which includes Altava Group from Singapore, East NFT based in Thailand and Japan-based Soramitsu.
