Open banking platform Tink secures partnership with NatWest

Cloud-based open banking platform Tink announced it has landed a new partnership agreement with major British bank NatWest.

The agreement will provide NatWest mobile banking customers the opportunity to access Tink’s personal finance management and data enrichment services.

Its platform will be integrated into NatWest’s core mobile banking app and the Stockholm-based company hopes to “positively impact” its consumers.

Daniel Kjellén, co-founder and CEO, Tink, said: “The partnership with NatWest is a great testament to the quality of our technology – and to their dedication to improve its digital offering and customer experience.”

Tink has been developed to help customers feel more in control of their finances and it offers personalised insights based on their transaction history.

The features built with Tink’s technology are planned to go live in Q4 2019.

Kjellén concluded: “We believe that there are massive opportunities for those who choose to leverage new technology in order to build greater engagement with their customers. This partnership is proof of just that.”

NatWest becomes its first UK partner and joins other European firms including: BNP Paribas Fortis, ABN AMRO, Nordea and Klarna.

Earlier this year, Tink announced it had completed a significant new investment round, raising €56 million from a group of new and existing investors.
