Revolut customers have been impacted by an outage affecting multiple regions and services.

According to downdetector, customers began logging reports of outages at 6:50am (UK time), which peaked at 1,458 reports by 8:00am.

The Revolut Reddit page revealed that customers in Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain and the UK have been affected by the outage.

Users have reported they have been unable to perform actions, such as paying for coffees while a page on the company’s page has shown that services such as transfers, ATM withdrawals and customer support services have been affected by the outage.

The Revolut apps ‘system status’ page is also down displaying an ‘operational’ message to customers.

Revolut released a statement on its social media pages, stating the disruption is affecting “multiple services” but users’ money and data is safe.

“We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services,” said Revolut.

“We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.”

Revolut has yet to reveal what is causing the outage. The digital bank has more than 80 million customers and has a banking licence in over 30 countries.

Google Cloud services are experiencing disruptions which could be the cause of the Revolut outage.

Revolut uses Google Cloud as its primary cloud provider. Google’s engineering team are currently investigating the outage which stems from his London-based database.
