Stablecoin payment infrastructure provider BVNK has achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification for its standards on consumer protection.
The UK certification is recognised as a standard in information security management and is issued by the British Assessment Bureau, a UKAS-accredited certification body.
BVNK has achieved the gold standard ISO certification at its first attempt with no issues flagged by auditors during the process. This was hailed by the company’s Global Head of Security, Lazar Lazarov, as a demonstration to its commitment to security at “every level of our business”.
He commented: “Reaching the ISO 20071:2022 standard demonstrates that we invest in security at every level of our business, from operational teams to the boardroom, and that we effectively manage security through each stage of product development, project management and decision-making.
“This is an enterprise-grade stamp of approval on BVNK’s security controls. For our customers, it’s an assurance that we handle sensitive information in a trustworthy way and that we’ve reduced the risk of data breaches.”
ISO 27001 is a globally-recognised security framework that assesses how an organisation protects customer data.
To gain accreditation, BVNK had to undergo an extensive independent audit that evaluated its information security policies, procedures, reporting and governance structure, infrastructure, and risk management controls.
As part of the ISO 20071 accreditation, BVNK will be independently audited every year to ensure it continues to meet the standards.
The certification will also go a long way in securing consumer confidence in its range of stablecoins on offer, with many sceptics still lingering outside of the crypto sector.
BVNK supports and others some of the most popular stablecoins in the world, such as Circle’s USDC, also recently adding PayPal’s native stablecoin PYUSD to its services.
