Adyen has strengthened its links to the video gaming sector via a deal with fellow fintech Aghanim, further widening the breadth of industries the former is involved in.
The Amsterdam-based global fintech will provide its payment processing capabilities to Aghanim, which targets mobile games development companies with a direct-to-consumer enablement platform.
Aghanim aims to utilise this newly acquired payments capability to maintain momentum on its growth vision. The firm intends to enable gamers to pay for mobile gaming content seamlessly and securely via the integration with Adyen.
Constantin Andry, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Aghanim, said: “Aghanim’s promise to mobile game studios is to enable only high-value, cost-effective payment systems to protect against cannibalization of distribution costs.
“Adyen enables us to succeed in this, facilitating gamers and game publishers to transact quickly, easily, and with peace of mind across a diverse range of payment methods and preferences.”
Aghanim has identified Adyen as the ‘solution of choice’ for global enterprise merchants, taking note of the firm’s strong standing in the global payments space. The firm’s leveraging of Adyen solutions further diversifies the Dutch fintech’s partner portfolio.
This extensive client roster has been cited as a key growth driver for Adyen, which reported 24% year-over-year revenue growth in its H1 trading update earlier this month. Notable Adyen clients include employment website Indeed, TV outlet Fubo, and Swedish home and furniture giant IKEA’s Mexican subsidiary, among others.
“Aghanim is dedicated to helping transform the mobile gaming industry with innovative direct-to-consumer solutions that add value to both publishers and players,” said Konstantin Golubitsky, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Aghanim.
“A seamless, high-quality payment experience is a critical component on the way to this goal and we’re excited to partner with Adyen, a renowned leader in the payment space, to superpower the Aghanim platform.”
