Digital finance service Zip has integrated its one-click buy now, pay later (BNPL) payment method to Stripe for US customers.
Eligible Stripe merchants will be able to access the Zip payment method via a single click through the Stripe dashboard. Merchants can then use interfaces, such as the Payment Element and Checkout to offer Zips BNPL service.
Zip is available to merchants in Australia with general availability to merchants in the US expected later this year.
George Eliopoulos, Chief Commercial Officer at Zip, said: “Our goal at Zip is to provide customers with transparent and flexible credit solutions that enhance their financial autonomy while providing merchants access to a new and motivated customer base.
“Our strategic partnership with Stripe continues to deliver strong outcomes for merchants and customers in Australia, and we are excited to replicate the success in the United States.”
BNPL has firmly established itself as a mainstream payment option, and Zip’s inclusive approach is aiming to “revolutionise” access to the retail economy.
Zip uses an algorithm that broadens its demographics access to credit, which introduces a new segment of customers to brands but also helps to address the needs of those long underserved by traditional financial institutions.
With 6 million active customers and more than 79,000 merchants across the US, Australia and New Zealand, Zip continues to promote financial inclusion by making everyday spending, cash flow management, and budgeting accessible.
