Bank payment company GoCardless has appointed Jolawn Victor as its Chief Growth Officer to head up its global expansion plans.

Viktor has been tasked with managing a team focused on SME customer acquisition, incremental revenue growth and brand, marketing and communications.

Paul Stoddart, President at GoCardless, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Jolawn to our executive team. With her wide-ranging experience in tech and her expertise in growth marketing, product and international expansion, Jolawn will add strength and depth to our business as we work towards our ambitious growth goals.”

The new Chief Growth Officer has previously held C-suite and executive roles at PepsiCo, Headspace and most recently, Intuit, where she was Vice President and Country Manager of Intuit UK, overseeing the company’s go-to-market (GTM) functions.

Victor has more than 20-years of experience, in which she has driven growth in companies in North America, Europe and Australia. The industry veteran has experience of GTM, product, international expansion and marketing in B2B and B2C industries.

Commenting on her new role, Victor said: “It’s an honour to join GoCardless as the company enters an exciting and pivotal phase of growth. From expanding our indirect channels to making GoCardless a household name in the UK and beyond, there are so many opportunities to pursue and I can’t wait to get started.”

Victor’s appointment is the most recent in a string of leadership hires at GoCardless. Last summer, the fintech unicorn appointed a new Chief People Officer and Head of Corporate Development to drive growth, followed by naming former SAP Executive Franck Cohen as its first Chair of the Board.

This most recent appointment comes at a significant point of growth for the company, with GoCardless announcing several deals already this year.

Most notably, in March, the firm scaled up its operational scope and capabilities to target new business sectors by acquiring Sentenial Group, better known by its trading name Nuapay.

Other deals include an extension of its existing partnership Intuit QuickBooks by launching services in two new major markets. Additionally, the company agreed a deal earlier this month with UK tile retailer Topps Tiles.

Victor concluded: “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams and creating an inclusive culture. I’m excited to bring this to the role at GoCardless, and to learn from the talented team as we embark on this journey together.”
