Payment orchestration firm BR-DGE has sought to enhance its offering to merchants by becoming the latest company to integrate PayPal for online checkouts.

The company will offer PayPal’s PPCP payments platform and Braintree platform to its merchant customers, which it believes will help drive conversation by reducing checkout friction.

BR-DGE has cited research showing that 32% of consumers say availability of payment options is a high priority when making a purchase. By integrating PayPal, the firm hopes to meet this demand, which separate studies have noted is high among younger demographics.

“We are on a mission to empower merchants with the latest payment innovations the industry has to offer,” said Tom Voaden, Head of Partnerships at BR-DGE.

“By partnering with PayPal, we are able to meet merchant and consumer needs with an easy-to-use and frictionless payment solution.

“As we look to process over £1.5bn of transactions this year, this partnership will help our merchants drive revenues and provide customers with the best possible payment experience. We look forward to working with the PayPal team on this collaboration.”

In addition, BR-DGE will also offer its merchants any payments innovations and technology PayPal develops via its ecosystem connectivity tool, BR-DGE Connect. This will include the PayPal Pay later and Venmo features, set for US launch later this year.

PayPal recently unveiled a series of new tech features to its product portfolio, with AI playing a key role in many of the new offerings. The firm’s President and CEO, Alex Chriss, stated at the time that it is ‘on a mission to revolutionise commerce’.
