Mastercard has taken on payments solutions provider COLIBRIX as its latest strategic partner in an agreement posing several opportunities for the latter.

As a Mastercard principal member, COLIBRIX will gain access to the payments giant’s global network. London-based COLIBRIX has also praised the opportunities to further enhance its capabilities via the partnership.

Aleksander Bobrov, CEO of COLIBRIX, said: “We are deeply honoured to be recognised as a Principal Member by Mastercard, a testament to our drive for top performance and innovation in the payments industry.

“This collaboration marks a significant step forward and we are excited about the new opportunities it brings for us and our customers.

“And we couldn’t have gotten here without the dedicated people who work with us to drive the business forward and contribute to our continued success.”

As stated above, COLIBRIX is a UK enterprise, registered with the country’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The company’s main focus is providing payments services to businesses, based around social, commercial and governance criteria.

The firm was founded in 2020 as Paysage.io but rebranded to its current identity of COLIBRIX in 2022, aiming to reposition itself as a payments provider of choice to various merchants.

COLIBRIX’s partnership with global payments leader Mastercard also comes at a significant time for UK fintech, with the sector continuing to grow not just in London but also in other major cities such as Manhcester, Edinburgh and Belfast, among others.

The UK government has placed a heavy emphasis on financial services and fintech as part of its economic approach, a policy reiterated by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in the August budget.
