Software-as-a-Solution (SaaS) platform Temenos has announced that William Moroney and Philip Barnett have been promoted to its Executive Board.

Moroney now becomes the President International and joins the Executive Committee alongside Barnett, also being promoted to the Committee. Both will report to Temenos CEO Andreas Andreades

Expanding his remit across key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, the President International will be responsible for generating new revenue streams through partnerships and increasing the company’s presence across the aforementioned regions, which represents 57% of its revenue.

Moroney is promoted from his previous role as Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, where he led “significant success” in driving growth. He joined Temenos in 2020 and holds over 25 years of experience in sales working for several international bank and tech firms.

He commented on his promotion: “I am delighted to take on this role leading our international business and partner organisation.

“Amid the current industry disruption, we have a fantastic opportunity to grow our business and bring the benefits of our scalable, cloud-native modern platform to more banks around the world. I look forward to working closely with our teams globally to drive our momentum and capture new market opportunities.”

Barnett has held a number of senior leadership roles during his long-tenured time at Temennos since 2003. He was responsible for strategy and success of America’s clients and prior to that, was President of Strategic Growth leveraging tech and IT services to generate new revenue streams in key markets.

“I am honoured to join the Executive Committee and continue to collaborate with our Americas’ teams and our partners to deliver greater value to our customers,” said Barnett.

“We have the best customer references in the Americas such as a top 30 US bank, Commerce Bank, Convera and BanCoppel in LatAm to name but a few. We have a proven modern banking platform which is fully compliant with local regulations, delivering advanced cloud technology to help banks modernise their banking and payments operations.”

Moroney will take over the role of President International from the retiring Jean-Paul Mergeai, with the two working closely for several years. Mergeai will remain at Temenos in a CEO advisory role until the end of June.
