Transaction platform Paysafe, has launched its services in Ontario, Canada, ‘powering payments for leading operators’ in the new igaming market.

Canada’s most populated province has opened itself up today for regulated online gambling and igaming companies for the first time. This coincides with Paysafes venture in Ontario.

The global payments firm has previous ties with the Maple Leaf country, processing online payments for the Ontario Lottery and online gaming brand OLG. Paysafe will look to implement their seamless payment methods for igaming firms expanding into Ontario for the first time.

With the launch of online gambling and gaming, according to Vixio, Ontario is projected to generate C$1.86 billion in gross revenue by 2026. Major gaming operators such as PointsBet and ScoreBet are expected to launch in Ontario, who are also partners of Paysafe.

Through their ‘best-in-breed payment gateway’, Paysafe will offer its services to Canadian igaming customers for the first time, allowing for players to place online sports bets that will be able to be transacted seamlessly by Paysafe.

“Today’s launch of the new, expanded Ontarian iGaming market marks a milestone for the North American industry and our global company, which has its origins in Canada,” states Zak Cutler, CEO of North America iGaming at Paysafe.

“Ontario will likely rival the largest U.S. state igaming jurisdictions when it reaches maturity, and we look forward to facilitating payments for operators and their Ontarian customers to help the market grow to its full potential.”

Paysafe is scheduled to unveil new igaming payments products and operator partnerships for the Ontarian market in the coming weeks.
