As part of the collaboration, Nuvei is to supply it’s instant bank payment solution to 888 in order to boost consumer deposits to the Sportsbook platform, ‘providing seamless, real-time’ bank account funding.
Philip Fayer, Nuvei’s Chair and CEO, commented on the addition: “Providing customers with the most convenient, secure, and fast payment experience is at the core of what Nuvei does.”
In June 2021, 888 partnered with Authentic Brands Group (ABG), the owner of Sports Illustrated (SI) to together launch the sports betting platform.
“We are excited to partner with 888 to provide an iconic brand such as Sports Illustrated the ability to launch strong into the US sports betting and iGaming market,” Fayer added.
After its recent release in Colorado, the SI Sportsbook is expected to launch in Indiana, Iowa and New Jersey at a later date, along with further states to follow.
The new collaboration means that the Sportsbook now has access to around 11,000 financial institutions in the US due to Nuvei’s platform integration with Plaid.
“Following the announcement of our strategic partnership with Sports Illustrated, we are thrilled to offer Nuvei’s innovative services to sportsbook fans,” said Yaniv Sherman, SVP Head of US at 888 Holdings.
“With high-growth opportunities across the U.S, partnering with Nuvei enables us to enhance the player experience and further the position of SI Sportsbook as a cutting-edge platform in the market.”
In April, Nuvei continued to heighten its US presence by entering into an agreement to acquire Mazooma Technical Services- an account-to-account payments provider in the region.
This saw the business gain product functionality, vendor registration, compliance, and operational infrastructure to address merchant’s requirements in any regulated U.S. state.
