Paysafe combines with Golden Nugget to bolster US presence

Paysafe has elevated its partnership with Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG), as the firm expands its presence in Michigan.

The deal will see GNOG’s online casino for the regulated Michigan market plug into Paysafe – boosting its payments journey for consumers.

Gregory Kirstein, VP of Business Development, igaming at Paysafe, said: “We’re delighted to grow our partnership with Golden Nugget into Michigan, and we’re pleased that they recognise our value in supporting customer acquisition, retention and overall revenue growth in the states where they are now operating. We look forward to continuing our dedicated support in Michigan in collaboration with Global Payments.”

The brand’s integration with Paysafe’s payments platform and payment gateway enables Michigan players to quickly and securely make deposits by credit and debit card to enjoy a wide array of video slots, table games, video poker, and live dealer games.

Thomas Winter, President at Golden Nugget Online Gaming, added: “Like every US igaming operator, getting payments right has always been an important focus for us. Our partnership with Paysafe in New Jersey has helped us streamline and improve payments for us and our customers, and so when we chose to enter the bigger market of Michigan, extending the partnership was an easy choice that made sound business sense.”

GNOG and Paysafe’s latest US move builds on a successful and long-standing partnership in the New Jersey igaming market. The payment provider has powered the payment offering of GNOG’s Golden Nugget Online Casino since the Garden State’s regulated real-money online casino and poker market went live in November 2013.

When GNOG debuted the Golden Nugget Sportsbook in New Jersey in February 2019, the operator’s partnership with Paysafe extended into the sports-betting space. Its entry into Michigan’s igaming and sports betting market is expected to be followed by other launches later in 2021, including West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
