KPMG has renewed its title sponsorship of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open as it looks to replicate the same economic impact as last year’s event.
The KPMG Women’s Irish Open has emerged as a significant economic driver, contributing an estimated €7m in direct spending during the 2024 tournament alone. This financial impact spans various sectors, including food, accommodation and event services, generating an additional €4.6m in economic output.
Following this three-year extension, the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open is scheduled to take place in the first week of July, an earlier date than in recent years.
Stephen King, Partner at KPMG Ireland, stated: “We are incredibly proud to extend our sponsorship of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open as we continue to support golf, and women’s sport in Ireland. The tournament’s resurgence has been remarkable, and we are delighted to see its positive impact extend beyond the golf course, into the surrounding communities.
“It was fantastic to see how many young girls and boys attended this year’s tournament and we hope the KPMG Women’s Irish Open continues to be a source of inspiration to them over the coming years.”
The firm has sponsored the Women’s Irish Open since its 2022 return and views this announcement as reinforcing its commitment to advancing and empowering women’s sports in Ireland.
Cian Branagan, CEO of Forefront, added: “It’s wonderful to see a global brand like KPMG committing further to growing and supporting women’s golf in Ireland and it marks an amazing vote of confidence in the sport that they have decided to continue with the partnership.
“We look forward to working closely with KPMG over the next three years, continuing to provide a world-class platform on which to showcase some of the best golfing talent from Ireland and across the globe.”
