Zing, HSBC’s international payments app, has announced its first sports sponsorship, becoming the official international payments and remittance partner of Premier League club Brentford FC.
This becomes Zing’s first sponsorship within sports as it will be able to leverage Brentford’s standing as a Premier League club, enhancing its brand and visibility across the UK and the league’s international audience.
Zing’s brand will feature prominently across the Gtech Community Stadium and on content on club channels. They will also engage with the local community, through both the club and the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, providing giveaways for fans throughout the season.
Zing’s Founder and CEO, James Allan, commented on the sponsorship deal: “I’m proud to partner with Brentford as we’re on similar journeys – Brentford have climbed into and consolidated in the Premier League and, at Zing, we are growing fast in the UK with our market-leading international money app.
“I’m excited for this partnership to bring worry-free international money to Brentford fans. That means no hidden costs, real-time exchange rates, and spending less on fees. I’m also looking forward to seeing how we bring Brentford FC to our Zing members, watch this space for exciting news on giveaways throughout the season.
“Like the Bees, at Zing we pride ourselves on speed, energy, and commitment to delivering our best. We look forward to working together to elevate both our brands.”
Part of the HSBC group, Zing is an app available to UK residents aged over 18, focusing on providing seamless international money transactions by enabling users to hold money in over 20 currencies, send in over 30 currencies, and to be spent across a plethora of markets.
Having only launched this year by HSBC, it has already begun to partner with some of the largest payment service providers in the world such as Visa, integrating its Currencycloud and Tink multicurrency digital wallets and Open Banking technology respectively.
Fran Jones, Commercial Director at Brentford, said: “Zing is an exciting company with a bright future ahead and we’re so pleased to be working with them as we continue in the 2024/25 Premier League season. Their innovative approach to international payments aligns perfectly with our club’s forward-thinking philosophy.
“We’re honoured that Zing has chosen to take their first step into sports partnerships with Brentford. We believe this partnership can also create valuable opportunities for engagement within our community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact we can have together both on and off the pitch.”
