UK payments provider myPOS has hired a new Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Komorowski, who starts his latest role in a long tenure in the payments sector.

Komorowski joins myPOS’ efforts to become a leading payments provider across Europe, outside of the borders of its home market in the UK.

The fintech has been making progress on its pan-European vision in recent years, such as securing recognition as an EMI in Ireland back in 2022.

myPOS’ success has been heavily driven by its acquisition by Advent International in February this year. Advent is one of the world’s largest private equity firms, specialising in buyouts of companies across various continents.

Mario Shiliashki, CEO of myPOS, said: “At this key time for our business, we are delighted to welcome Matt on board. I have no doubt that his leadership style and expertise will help myPOS accelerate revenue streams, develop a world-class sales team and push us to become the leader in the SME payments segment.”

Komorowski’s career in payments has seen tenures at PayPal, Groupon, Boston Consulting Group and Volt.io, finishing his career at the latter in the position of CRO, duties he will now transfer to myPOS.

Perhaps most significant is his career at PayPal, which lasted just under 10 years. His decade at the global payments giant saw him fill a series of Director and General Manager roles, concluding as Senior Director Partnerships – International Markets.

His time at PayPal saw specialisations across Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Benelux, as well as overseeing partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. This multinational experience may prove valuable to myPOS’ pan-European ambitions.

Komorowski added: “I am thrilled to join myPOS and bring my experience to continue growing what is already an outstanding and successful payments pioneer. The ability to work alongside such a talented team and empower merchants across Europe has made this an easy decision.

“myPOS has developed a one-of-a-kind business platform and I am confident that together we can achieve remarkable results and support small businesses as their growth partner.”
